Dance Classes

I am a passionate dance and fitness instructor with experience teaching children, teens, and adults in a wide range of styles. I have been actively involved in the dance world since the age of two, and I began teaching in 2009. Since then, I’ve taught intermittently over the years, building a well-rounded background in both dance technique and group fitness instruction.

My teaching experience includes children’s dance classes, adult dance and fitness classes, and traditional dance disciplines such as ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, breakdancing and hip hop, as well as adult fitness & dance fitness, including aerial pole fitness. I strive to create classes that are welcoming, encouraging, and confidence-building, while still offering quality instruction and thoughtful movement. Most importantly, I strive to make the classes FUN!

I am a licensed CanFitPro Fitness Instructor Specialist , Children’s Fitness Instructor Specialist and carry fitness & dance instructor insurance, ensuring a safe & professional environment for all participants.

Currently, I offer children’s ballet, children’s hip hop, and virtual adult dance fitness classes. Details for each class offering and location can be found below:

love for charlee

  • "Charlee is an exceptional dance teacher. She has an energy the kids just vibe with and they learn so much. Charlee is an amazing role model for my daughter who also loves listening to her music. "

Emily Rankin - Dance Parent, Port Hood

  • "Our family has been so grateful for the deep passion Charlee has for her inspiration to teach dance to our two eager daughters. Especially in rural Cape Breton, these unique experiences are not always available consistently, so we appreciate her willingness to bring these skills to our little communities. Charlee's ability to engage a large group of kiddos is a rare skill all on its own, not to mention her gentle, yet fun demeanor that has every student feeling seen, heard and understood. Charlee naturally offers a wide range of dance techniques to a large range of dancers. Not only is she willing to step outside the box and create new experiences, but she is open to loving feedback and collaborating with her community members. Thank you Charlee for everything you are. You are such a rare gift to this beautiful island."

    The Roche Family, Grand Étang

  • "Charlee is a phenomenal person and dance teacher. She meets kiddos where they are at and creates an inclusive, fun, and creative environment for all of her young learners. The joy that radiates from Charlee as she teaches is pure and any kid would be lucky to experience a dance class or workshop with her!"

Steph MacNamara - Dance Parent, Margaree
